It actually looks like the Summer might be here at last and I am sure many of you are preparing to go on holiday over the next couple of months.
• CCTV – there is no arguing that HD CCTV is a must for home security. For a start any burglar worth his salt won’t even look at a property if he knows they have CCTV in place. To this end, you may want to put up signs advertising the fact that you have a system. Here are some of the latest additional safety measures that you can take:
o Monitor your home from your smartphone. You can arm or disarm your system at the touch of a button.
o Add or remove specific security features. You may want the alarm to disarm for a period of time when the children are expected to return home from school, for example.
o Add additional lighting, sensor lighting or alarm timings.
• Motion sensor lighting – the sensors these days are so smart they can detect the difference in motion between your dog or kids and a potential burglar.
• Other smart features – there are lots of other new systems on the market that will improve your home security. For instance, you can install a unit to a door that will ring or otherwise alert you when anyone approaches. There are also locksets which forgo the traditional key and use biometric fingerprint scanning instead.
Once you have security measures such as these in place, you can really relax and enjoy your well-earned break.
