Glevum Security is proud to be named as one of the 100 small businesses invited to participate in the UK Small Business Saturday on 5th December.

One business is featured each day during the 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday. Last year the selected companies were also invited to a special Xmas Fair held in Downing Street and attended by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness of the small businesses which are vitally important to the UK economy. It is estimated that small businesses provide 60% of private sector jobs in Britain and around half of the private sector turnover. All major media sources carried details of the campaign last year and it trended at No 1 on Twitter with some 3.5 million Facebook likes.

This year’s theme is “5 million small businesses – 1 big day”.

Glevum Security Director Mark Baker is quoted in Professional Security Magazine Online as saying “Small Business Saturday – like most Saturdays – will be busy for us as, being a 24-7 business, usually weekends are very busy for us. When other companies have the weekend off, that’s when our services begin as we respond when they are not there.”
