Company Profile

Established in March 2000 by Mark Baker & Steven Barnett, Glevum Security was set up to provide a high quality security service to both commercial & residential customers. They believe in professional commitment to all their customers & the regularity bodies that govern the security industry.

This has been a continual quality process for Glevum from achieving a Customer Service Award in 2001: Achieving NSI Guarding Silver in 2003: Achieving investors in People Standard (2004): Achieving NSI Guarding Gold (2006). Achieving SIA Approved Contractor Status (2006).

Confidence: NSI Gold Companies provide the highest level of assurance. They have met the technical standards required at Silver level but in addition, operate to an industry-specific ISO 9000 Quality Management System. Gold Companies have to demonstrate strong, reliable, long-term performance and progressive improvement, with particular emphasis on customer care.

What is the National Security Inspectorate (NSI)?
NSI is an independent, not for profit, approvals body providing inspection services for the fire & security industries. For over 30 years, NSI has been protecting the customers interest by insisting on the highest standards and operating the toughest inspection regimes. Companies are audited regularly, by highly qualified full-time inspectors, to prove their ongoing competence and delivery to the highest standards.

Only NSI & ACS approved companies can offer this independent assessment of their service to customers. Continuing to maintain high standards and achieving status and recognition within the local area has helped ensure Customers are certain to receive a reliable, quality approved service from Glevum Security Ltd.

Who are the Security Industry Authority (SIA)?
The Security Industry has recently introduced compulsory regulation (PSIA 2001) for those that work within the Industry. The body responsible for regulation is The SIA. The PSIA 2001 requires contracted security guards, to hold an appropriate SIA license. Failure to comply could result in a fine, imprisonment and ultimately a criminal record which would exclude them from work within the industry.

The PSIA 2001 applies to both individuals and the Companies / Organisations that employ them. These Companies and Organisations should not deploy employees if they do not possess an SIA License, however, should they complete The Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) they can benefit in various ways: one being to use a small proportion of staff whose SIA license applications are pending. Thus giving them an advantage over their competitors.

The SIA ACS is based upon widely recognised business improvement Models such as ISO9001:2000. Approved Contractors are demonstrably committed to customer service and the compulsory licensing of their staff and their Customers can be assured that private security operatives deployed on their premises will be working within the law. As well as giving clients confirmation of the quality and standards that they can expect of Approved Contractors, the ACS will provide confidence and reassurance to wider stakeholders such as the public, police, employees and the local community.

If Companies and Organisations do not follow these stringent requirements they will be breaking the law, which could end in the form of a fine, imprisonment and ultimately result in them being closed down.
